I had a tear on my post tib. tendon while playing tennis a year ago.
I did the rehab and at around 6 months in, i was able to go back to doing plyometrics and light jogging again and thought i'd be back on track in a few more weeks.
Life is full of surprises though and I suddenly got sick with a couple different things after, and was bed ridden and then sedentary for a few months. During that time, i had a lot of muscle wasting and lost a lot of mass in my calves/legs, which was depressing since i worked hard on that for years.
I'm trying to get my ankles back to be able to do sports again with strengthening exercises, but is there still hope for this? do tendon injuries stop recovering at some point? or are my prospects better going through PRP or surgery?

2022.01.26 06:05 crybabymoon Tips for calming down after nightmares? My stress is spiking and I am constantly alert yet exhausted. How to overcome this childhood fear?

So I (22F) don't have nightmares often, maybe once every 1-2 months. However, when I do, it's usually warmer in my room. I believe this is common for more people.
Last night I had a nightmare about the aliens from the movie Mars Attacks. I saw the movie when I was young (8-10 YO maybe?) and I was scared to death. I had nightmares for weeks, I refused to shower because I was afraid to close my eyes when rinsing my hair. I slept with my door open so my room wouldn't be pitch black. I kept that up for a couple of months before it kinda died down.
I never got over my fear of those aliens. I actually love outer space and the typical aliens like the alien emoji. I did culture studies a few years ago and a book on film theory had an image from Mars Attacks. It was like a jumpscare for me. I went and taped the pages together so I wouldn't accidentally see it again. Also saw a post on reddit with them once.
I don't know why I dreamt about them last night. I haven't seen or thought about those aliens for months, maybe years. I fell back asleep and the nightmare just picked right up where it left off.
I am going through a very stressful period currently and I am coping with seasonal depression. I am exhausted all the time no matter what amount of sleep I get. Is there anything I can do about this? I read that stress hormone levels get pretty high after waking up from nightmares.
I'd also like some advice on how to get over this fear. I've overcome a lot of childhood fears but this one just somehow sticks, I think because they remind me of how it affected me when I was a child. I used to be scared of ET too. Still don't like ET but I can bare to look at him. I can't even het myself to google Mars Attacks in fear of what I might see.
I've been a bit more alert and jumpy during nighttime lately. Feeling very anxious like there's something in my room. I meditate a lot during those moments but I can't shake the feeling.
Any tips, thoughts, comments?

I saw there was a post recently related to my question, but I didn't want to hijack it. I'll delete if I need to.
What are ways you can exercise without triggering your Fibromyalgia? I am overweight and want to lose the weight, but not just because of lifelong comments from family and doctors alike. However, I am deathly afraid of triggering my Fibromyalgia. I worked in a horse stable previously and while I got my exercise and got money doing it, my body couldn't handle it. My Fibro actually got worse and has stayed worse eight and half months later.
I am a very insecure and anxious person, so going to the gym is very difficult for me. No friends or family want to join me, even though I've asked. My knees also really start hurting after an hour of walking, but braces alleviate the pain slightly. I also have a very nasty habit of ignoring or misjudging my limits. I either think "I don't want to overdo it" and give up too early, or I go well beyond my limits and stay in bed for the next few days.
For reference, I live in the upper Midwest. We have wind chills of -27°F in the morning and it stays in single digits all day. While I would LOVE to swim, lakes are frozen over and all indoor pools are in hotels. Because of my balance issues, walking on ice is really scary for me lol. My city and apartment are both pretty awful about salting sidewalks. I've thought about getting those little metal or plastic cleets or spikes you can put on your shoes to prevent slipping though. I've also thought about requesting a PT from my doctor and hoping the PT will have some insight on how to exercise without triggering my Fibro.
Any and all insight is appreciated. While I know diet and mindset can be great assets to losing weight, I want to get active as much as possible. I stay in bed too much and want to move. I also am looking to see if anyone has success with schedules. Like a "MWF, I go out and exercise" or something like that. Sorry for the novel!

Hi all
Currently a level 3 paladin and my DM was kind enough to let me take a modified Oath of the Valkyrie. (Channel Divinity bonus action lay on hands to multiple targets, is now an action)
I have STR and CHA at 16 and am pondering my ASI at 4th level. I seem to be using a lot of concentration spells which made me think of the War Caster feat since I need to make a lot of CON saves, but I want to get STR and CHA to 18 as soon as possible (prefering CHA I think).
Any suggestions for how to proceed?
