2021.11.26 20:45 subtlearray A Buddhist Aimlessly Seeking Truth and Contentment
I no longer feel joy or motivation from Buddhism, and I've been trying, for maybe a couple years now, to become an ex-Buddhist. I've researched other paths, and each one has had incompatibilities. Hinduism is centered too heavily on gurus; converting to Judaism requires an inordinate amount of time and money; Islam didn't mesh with my temperament; and secular paths all seem to lead towards nihilism, which Buddhism already reinforces.
10 years ago, I never would've imagined I'd be giving Christianity serious consideration, but here I am. One thing that appeals to me about Catholicism, specifically, is its structure and academic tradition. I find comfort in reading and studying. I'm currently reading The Reason for God by Timothy Keller, and plan to read Pope Peter by Joe Heschmeyer, which I hear makes a strong case for the papacy.
Any advice or resource suggestions would be appreciated.

2021.11.26 20:45 PeachPlastic_ Silver Lining with Living Situations!
I recent had to move back into my families home and they don’t know I’m transitioning, they know I’m queer and don’t cause problems but are still pretty ignorant. I was sitting down and my grandma tried to insult my legs for getting thicker, like woman’s legs as she called it. Little does she know that was a big victory being roughly 9 months into my HrT!

2021.11.26 20:45 BroncoBoy91 Overall industry need in the next year, and overall?
Hello all, new poster here, hope everyone's day/week/month has been good to you and yours.
I recently have decided to pursue the aviation industry again, and hoping to get some insight/overall advice, and if my "plan" makes sense or is way out in left field, and just a bit about me if anyone is interested =)
I'm 35/M and went to school in WA state in 2010 pursuing a degree in Aviation Science. At the time, I wasn't sure which path I wanted to go, and that seemed like a good starting point since it branched out a bit in each direction (Pilot, ATC, dispatching). After about a year in the program I decided to pursue the ATC route, and completed the program with 110 Credits, a 3.10 GPA and certs in Adv ATC, Airline Dispatch, and Intl Flight Planning.
Don't ask me why, cause I couldn't tell you, but basically I never pursued anything. Didn't get into ATC academy before 31, timeline passed to take FAA test, so I just chocked it up to a good college time.
Fast forward to today, and lets just say with everything going on I have been looking at a pursuing my career in Aviation again. I looked into joining the Navy and pursuing the AC route, and I still might, but at 35, enlisting is pretty far down my list.
I also reapplied at my old school since I still live in the area, got my FAFSA approved for a bit more than the first time (I think it would be enough to cover the cost) and am waiting for my application to the school.
Looking into the program, its a total of 30 credits (5 classes) over 3 quarters, and once completed I have 90 days to take the FAA exam. I believe the school also works closely with local airlines for internships possibly.
I'm hoping all my paperwork will get approved in the next week or two, and if so I MAY be able to register and start taking classes in Winter Quarter, which would be awesome. All the courses are online, and I already took all those courses 10 years ago, so I'm excited for this opportunity to work out.
I could possibly be done by August of next year, and depending on how long the FAA exam timeline is, I would try and take that ASAP, and hope in the time in between to be working with the school/internship and maybe have something lined up in approx 1 year?
What is the job market like now and in the foreseeable year? I have no partner, kids, pets, and would have no problem moving almost anywhere if a opportunity presented itself.
So what does everyone think? Does my timeline seem OK? Am I too excited and rushing it?
Thanks for reading and any insights!

2021.11.26 20:45 letmepetyourdogs I need opinions on my cage dilemma!
So my GCC’s main cage is starting to get a little rust on the bottom and I’m super cautious about things like that. He has a “second cage” right next to it, that has a play area on top (which is why we keep it- he is ALWAYS on it). It’s a little smaller in terms of the actual cage part. The smaller cage is 18”L x 18”W x 28”H. Do you guys think this would be fine? I’m considering it because the ONLY time he is locked in the cage is bedtime. He is in his own room so he has open cage all day, and he is out with us probably 5 hours a day total. Im fighting myself because it’s a tad smaller but also in much better shape. Thank you!

2021.11.26 20:45 Sage-Moonlight Customer Complaint
So as I was leaving today my coach told she had heard some "feedback" that I haven't been as nice as I could be to the customers...for 1. I've been stuck in sfs the past two weeks basically my whole shift (8-5) and 2. I have really bad social anxiety so I literally don't talk to anyone and when I am talking to a customer I'm as nice as I can be because I'm constantly scared that everyone is always pissed off at me. So idk guys I'm just very confused about this, there's only one situation I can think of that she's referring to but it happened a month ago and I already explained my side of the story to my TL and he sided with me, so I really don't know.
